Principal Investment Management, the private client portfolio management specialist, has been chosen as one of the finalists for this year's Citywire Wealth Manager Awards, by a panel of over 300 financial advisers. The ten Award categories attracted nearly 50 entries. Principal, along with Standard Life Wealth, Parmenion Capital Partners and Whitechurch Securities were selected as finalists for the title of 'Citywire Advisers Choice Awards 2010 - Small Firm.'
Charlie Parker from Citywire Wealth Manager and one of the main organisers for the awards said: "When my colleagues and I sat down to work out the nature of these awards two things were on our minds. First we wanted to find a way to reward genuinely excellent investment performance in its own right. The second thing on our mind was the need to reward those wealth managers who have done the best job of winning the acclaim of financial advisers."
Indeed, and more importantly, the advisers who formed the 300-strong panel for choosing Citywire Wealth Manager's Advisers Choice Award finalists are not those who are outsourcing their investment out of panic or using wealth managers because they are scared of regulation. Instead, the advisers Citywire chose to focus on are those who are picking an investment outsourcing partner from a position of strength.
"They are individuals who are building strong financial planning practices and, as their own expertise in that area grows, they are concluding that the investment management of their clients' assets should be handled as a separate discipline," commented Charlie.
Hearing the news that Principal had been nominated as a finalist for the award, Hugh Titcomb, CEO of the company said: "It's fantastic to be shortlisted for this highly competitive category and it's a huge accolade and endorsement of our business strategy and service. We pride ourselves on the strong working relationships that we have with our financial advisers and it's a great feeling to know that we're doing the best possible job for our clients."
